2021. It's a New Year.

We all would agree that 2020 has been challenging, especially emotionally, and for some, physically, financially and even spiritually. In reflecting on my own life and challenges in 2020, I realized that there were many gifts in the midst of what felt like a sort of “closing in.” My husband and I were able to do a beautiful landscape behind our cabin in North Georgia. Having the cabin has allowed us to isolate if we have needed to, and have a place to rest and find solace. My family gathered and celebrated my 70th year with words of love and life. My son got engaged, and married in November in a wonderful time of celebration. I continue to counsel, both virtually and face to face within perimeters.

As I look ahead to uncertainty in the New Year, my word is “watchful.” I am prayerfully attentive to my choices in my day to day life, stay grounded in the word of God, and pray for the needs around me as God reveals them to me. I am trusting in God’s goodness and in His unfailing love, knowing that I belong to Him. I can rest in this embrace.
